What is a blog?
During the able and talented day on 13th June pupils from Oldbury Wells will be producing a blog - actually they will be posting to this blog. Before they do, it would be interested to find out what they know about blogs.
Leave a comment in answer to these questions (do NOT use your name when commented use your school computer username).

A blog is a website that is usually based on a certain subject, or like a diary kept on a website for everybody to read. Subjects could be thigns such as website design, or programming. Sombody could make a blog posting new ideas that they have come up with to make a site look better or a program function more efficiently.
The difference between a blog and a conventional website, is mainly that a blog is more like a journal or a diary, more personal. Also most blogs are updated more than conventional websites. Blogs text is also usually stored in external javascript files(), however conventional websites store their text in the body section of a html file.
I dont own a blog, i probably wouldnt update it enough and i also doubt that anybody would ever look or take any interest in it.
I think a good blog should be updated regularly, and should try to keep a user interested. for example, if a blog is about computers for people that arent good with computers, using technical language would loose a persons interest.

1) Blog is short for weblog. A weblog is an online diary that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. Blogs generally represent the personality of the author or the Web site.
2) Conversational websites can have different enteries posted by different people. Used on game/personial sites (aka Forums)

4)A good blog should be updated regually like a good web comic. So that the readers do not get bored.

1) a blog is like an online diary about peoples lives and beliefs like UFO’s and Lost.
2)a website will have lots of information and maybe some games,forums and things you can download.But a blog is like a diary with pictures.

i blog is basically an online diary that other people can read.
a blog is something that only you can post in or write your messages but convential websites (forums) allow other people to post messages aswell.
i think a good blog needs to contain things that will interest the person reading
it and needs to get across the point that is being put forward

1. As far as I know, a blog is basically an online diary designed by a peron or organisation for general viewing.
2. A blog is more informal than a conventional website, designed to show a person’s character and interests rather than impart specific information. A blog is also only edited or added to by the person/people who created it opposed to being like a forum on which anyone can post.
3. I don’t have one
4. I think a good blog should be updated regularly with interesting content. They should also be well presented, with the design reflecting their personality and the content of the blog so that you have an idea about what the blog will contain without actually having to read any of the entries. A decent blog should also combine a range of media types, like video clips and images rather than just text.

A blog is a online diary, either about someone’s life or about a prefered topic. Usually a blog takes form in video clips at different points in the project/life, yet it can also be recorded in various pictures and comments.
A blog is different to a conventional website in different ways, as like the one listed above in other comments, another way a blog differers is that a website is usually for a large fanbase and is advertised in some method, either on a product or via an internet popup (if you don’t have blocker). A blog is usually only viewed by friends of the creator, or if it is on a large sharing blog site then could be viewed by other people, the main purpose of a blog is social.
No, I do not have a blog.
A good blog is user friendly, being able to navigate around it easily is a must, some parts must also stand out and it must be updated recently.

1. As i have ercently found out, a blog is an diary or journal that is kept online. it is about peoples lives and interests they like. they can be made in many forms, video clips, pictures, and comments
2. Blogs are made by one person and can be changed by this one person only, whereas, conventional websites allow other people to comment on the topic. blogs also be seen to be quite personal and are updated regulary,conventional websites arent.
3. No, i don’t have a blog of my own.
4. A good blog should make sure that the interest of the audience is kept and that it keeps in an age range - make it friendly! Blogs should also capture readers interests by putting on pictures, video andd sound clips. The blogs should be updated regulary so interest is not lost. Blogs shouldn’t not be lenghty as this can get boring.

1) A blog is a journal or a diary, but it is on the internet, and it is normally about what people think on topics or about their life and things they believe. blogs can be made by videos, recordings and also pictures.
2)The differance between a blog and conversational websites is that blogs tend to be more personal, also they are normally made by using one person and other people aren’t allowed to change what the person thought lastly blogs are more up to date than conversational websites.

4)i think a good blogshould be appealing to everyone and not be BORING!!! so it should include interesting things like videos, pictures sounds. a blog should also be funky, and have a good layout that is easy to understand. blogs should also beshort so people don’t get bored reading it

There are a few differences between blogs and conventional websites. Blogs are more personal and social; whilst conventional websites are more formal, and are often run and owned by buisinesses. A blog is usually more frequently updated than a conventional website. Blogs are usually easier to create and set up than conventional websites. Also, they are stored in different file formats.
I do not own a blog.
I think that a good blog should be appealing and easy to use, and should be frequently updated.

Hello,
1. A blog is short for web log. It is usually short diary entries created for the purpose of other people’s veiwing.
2. A conventional website differs to a blog in serveral ways…
- It is more formal.
- It can have a main menu and often has links to other pages.
- It is not updated as often as a blog “usually” is.
3. I do not have my own blog.
4. For a blog to be good it entirely depends on the topics covered and the age group. The appearrance of the blog can have as much impact as the text. Clours, video clips, and images could be used to improve the blog and even prove any points discussed.

Blogs are more personal. sometimes talking bout thing that have happened, for instance on bands myspace they often leave a blog that has events that they recall
